A New Vision for Spiritual Interactivity

My day job is being a technology futurist, and over the years, I've developed a keen sense for detecting significant new technologies on the horizon. Using this sense, I was able to predict the emerging trend of Internet games, and founded a company that developed the world's first commercially successful Internet computer game, Spectre for the Macintosh. After this, I joined a thinktank which predicted the commercialization of the Internet, and I helped invent the concept of Internet e-markets and to propel the use of XML for business. And most recently, I've detected a new communications technology that is as powerful as the Internet, but this technology is one for the bedroom... tantra.
Tantra is technology for people, not for packets and pixels, and it's not only for the bedroom, but rather, its true nature is to serve as a discipline for developing loving kindness, awareness, presence and to better see the intrinsic joy of life.
Last week, we brought together the technologies of tantra and the Internet, by hosting our first interactive video-enabled tele-intensive, using some really nifty new technology. Our brave cybernauts, joining us on our inaugural journey into cyberspace, participated in a workshop taught by Charles Muir, the father of modern tantra and founder of the Source School of Tantra Yoga. Students and practitioners from all over the world joined and interacted with Charles and his teaching partner Leah Alchin. Here are some comments from some of our inaugural participants:

I believe that this was one small step for our cybernauts, but actually one giant leap for tantra. What's more, I predict that this is the first rumblings of the next major trend for planet Earth - the spiritualization of the Internet. The Internet has already begun to foster the development of emotionally connective applications, that begin with social networks, and will evolve into a Big Bang of new and exciting interpersonal experiences and social applications. What's more, with this infusion of Internet technology, "tantric innovation" has accelerated. This week, we hosted Dr. Sasha and Janet Lessin from the School of Tantra on Maui, Hawaii. To demonstrate that tantric innovation is alive and well in Maui, Sasha and Janet actually demonstrated the techniques to produce amrita - or female ejaculation - live, on air, during the tele-intensive. One student remarked, "I've read about amrita, but I could never have learned this much without actually having seen this."
And next week, the renowned Master Mantak Chia will teach Taoist techniques for meditation and sexual alchemy in a special OneTantra tele-intensive, and as part of this, he will perform the first transmission of Healing Tao energy over the Internet. Master Chia will be followed by another 22 nationally recognized tantra instructors during the balance of our 2009 semester... who knows what they'll come up with!
